The week-long training camp at the Cominco Arena in Trail, which runs until October 27, has seen 20 ice sledge hockey players invited with 16 of them set to make the national team.

"We are looking forward to getting on the ice for training camp" said head coach Mike Mondin.

"Being from Trail, I know the city is excited to welcome our players and staff to Kootenays for the week."

The roster announced for the camp includes 15 players who won gold at the 2011 World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Calgary last December and bronze at last April's International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships in Norway with star players Greg Westlake (pictured top), Brad Bowden and Billy Bridges all in attendance.

The players will be on the ice a total of nine times in six days in Trail, with on-ice sessions open to the public.

The City of Trail provided the ice rental at the Cominco Arena at no cost for the camp.

During the 2012-2013 season, Canada's team will compete in the 2012 World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Calgary in December before a three-game series against the United States in Ottawa in February and then the 2013 IPC Ice World Sledge Hockey World Championships in April in South Korea in an event that will serve as a qualifier for Sochi 2014.
