The film is narrated by Scottish comedienne and entertainer Karen Dunbar, who appeared in Chewin' the Fat and her own The Karen Dunbar Show as well as a host of stage roles.

In the promotional film, the 41-year-old from Ayr outlines the criteria and recruitment process to be a Games-time volunteer and provides viewers with a timeline to plan ahead.

The film details how to become a volunteer when applications open in mid-January 2013 and emphasises that no previous experience is necessary to volunteer for the Games.

"Narrating this film is an exciting opportunity for me because of how I feel about the Games coming to Glasgow," said Dunbar.

"It is the people of Scotland, with their humour and warmth, who will create the personality of the city at Games-time.

"I know the volunteers will put on a fantastic show.

"The short film is a fun way to make the serious point that being a Glasgow 2014 volunteer is for everybody and as a nation; no one does it quite like Scotland.

"We all love getting involved and helping out."


The film features special contributions from high profile Glasgow 2014 Ambassadors cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, swimmer Rebecca Adlington and comedian Billy Connolly.

An estimated 25,000 people are expected to register to become a volunteer when applications open in mid-January 2013.

Interviews will then take place between April and the end of the year before the final 15,000 volunteers are selected and roles are allocated.
