The IPC has released a trailer to promote its live coverage of the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympic Games ©Sochi 2014February 17 - The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has released a one-minute video trailer to promote its live coverage of the Sochi 2014 Games.

The video on the IPC YouTube channel highlights the action that can be expected when the Winter Paralympics, which are the biggest to date with nearly 600 athletes from 44 countries competing for 72 sets of medals, get underway on March 7.

More than 300 hours of uninterrupted live coverage of all the sports, namely alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, cross country skiing, ice sledge hockey and wheelchair curling, will be aired from Sochi across five HD channels on the IPC website

Both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will also be broadcast live and all the action will be made available as video on demand on YouTube following each day of competition.

Craig Spence, the IPC's communications and media director, said the coverage will allow fans across the globe to follow "every match and race" from the Paralympics.

"Sochi 2014 is set to break Winter Games viewing records in Australia, Japan, Great Britain, Canada and the United States, and the IPC's livestream will allow those who do not have the Games broadcast in their home countries to tune in," he added.

Live results, photographs, athlete interviews, and daily previews and reviews of all the sports will also be available on the IPC website throughout the Games.
