Panasonic has become an Official Partner of the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympics in the "audio-visual equipment" category ©AFP/Getty ImagesMarch 4 - Electronics giant Panasonic has become an official partner of the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympics.

It will supply audio and high definition video equipment to the competition venues and the International Broadcasting Centre of the Main Media Centre in Sochi.

As part of its addition to the "audio-visual equipment" partnership category, Panasonic will supply teams with items including LED large screen display systems, professional audio systems, flat-screen TVs, digital cameras and broadcasting equipment.

"Panasonic audiovisual systems will bring the excitement, emotion and atmosphere of the Games to spectators all around the world", said Sochi 2014 President and chief executive Dmitry Chernyshenko.

"Development of our partnership is an important step to ensure that the Games in Sochi will become the most modern and innovative."

The Paralympics are due to begin on Friday (March 7) with the Opening Ceremony in the Fisht Olympic Stadium.

Forty-five counties will compete across 72 events.

Speaking of its deal with the Paralympic Games, Panasonic Corporation Executive Officer Satoshi Takeyasu, said: "We are proud to support Sochi Paralympic Winter Games as Official Partner, and want to make it possible for people around the world to share the passion of the Paralympic athletes with our AV technologies whether they are in the venue or watching from home.

"Panasonic promises to bring the excitement of the Paralympic Games to life."
