After a dominant performance on the opening day, Iran's men went to work again in Astana's Daulet Sports Complex, securing the freestyle 61 kilogram gold medal as well as both the 70kg and 74kg titles to seal their 22nd freestyle team title since the Asian Championships' inauguration in India in 1979.

Veteran and 2013 World Championships bronze medallist Masoud Esmaeilpour led the way for the Iranians, as he outfoxed India's Bajneesh Bajrang with an 11-0 technical fall in the 61kg contest to secure the first of the day's three gold medals.

This was followed shortly afterwards by 70kg wrestler Hosinkhary Mostafa, who secured his first Asian Championships title through injury default as Tajikistan's Somirsho Vokhidov was unable to fight after his semi-final contest.

Paemami Reza Efzaly closed out the Iranians' Championship run with a hard fought 7-1 win over Mongolia's Parevjav Unurbat in the 74kg division.

The bronze medal finals in the lightest of these three categories, 61kg, saw Kazakhstan's Daulet Niazbekov and Mongolia's Nazmomdakh Lhamgarmaa triumph over Bazar Buzarguruev of Kyrgyzstan and Seungchul Lee of South Korea.

In the 70kg competition, Japan's Ken Hosaka edged past Kumar Dhakar Amit of India to secure the first bronze medal, with Ibrokhim Nuriddinov of Uzbekistan defeating Haiwei Ling of China for the second.

Kyrgyzstan's Inkoentiev Inokentiev took the first bronze in the 74kg contest as he got the better of Uzbekistan's Ibrokhim Nuriddinov, while Japan's Ryoichi Yamanka won the second with victory over China's Yad Zhang Chong.

Mongolia's men finished the freestyle team competition in second with 63 points, crowning their first champion of the tournament with 97kg star Dorjikhand Khuderbulga.

The big Mongolian fended off a late fightback from Kyrgyzstan's Magomed Musaev to hold onto the lead and ensure a first gold medal of the Championships for his nation.

Satiwart Kadian ensured a second medal of the day for India as he beat Kazak wrestler Alihan Djumaev in the first bronze medal match, while Rustam Iskandari doubled Tajikistan's medal tally by beating Iraq's Salah Mejeed Ahmed.

The host nation's gold, silver and two bronze medals were enough to seal them third in the men's freestyle team competition, with their sights now set on the top spot in the women's contest.

They took a step closer to this goal in the one and only women's competitions of the day, the 48kg contest, as Tatyana Amanzhol got the better of Mongolian Narangerel Erdenesukh in a tight encounter to seal Kazakhstan's second gold medal of the Championships.

This contest also saw Japan's Anna Iwamure defeat China's Yuan Li for a taste of the bronze, with South Korea's Yuimi Lee claiming the second bronze medal with victory over Vinesh Vinesh.

Action continues in Astana, Kazakhstan tomorrow as the final six women's freestyle categories take to the mat.
