Members of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) have discussed ways in which to attract new worldwide sponsors to the sport at an Associations Meeting in Bratislava.

IFF Central Board member Jörg Beer claimed floorball should be able to attract sponsors as it is "free of violence and doping".

Beer, who is also part of the Swiss Floorball Federation board, led a session at the meeting, where he unveiled the IFF's marketing strategy.

He admitted the governing body was having difficulty in signing sponsors.

Participants at the marketing session were given the chance to raise suggestions and ideas about how to enhance the IFF's sponsorship portfolio.

"Floorball gets a face all over the world and has created a personality of its own," said Beer.

"It is easy to play, fast and entertaining, free from doping and violence."

The marketing session was one of several on the programme at the Associations Meeting in the Slovakian capital, attended by around 60 participants from 35 countries.

Rule changes, due to come into effect in 2018, were also discussed, along with referees and possible changes to the way the sport is streamed online.

IFF Athletes Commission chairperson Lidwien Reehuis of The Netherlands also gave a presentation on their activities and goals.

"We want to be more visible and really show to the athletes that we are there for them," said Reehuis.

"We want to represent them and also inform them about relevant matters.

"We hope to inspire others via our blogs and vlogs and to promote events."
