Japanese duo Shingo Kunieda and Yui Kamiji claimed the men's and women's singles titles as Dylan Alcott delivered a home triumph at the Sydney International Wheelchair Tennis Open.

Kuneida beat Paralympic silver medallist and Wheelchair Tennis Masters champion Alfie Hewett of Britain 6-4, 6-4 to clinch the men's singles crown at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre.

The result handed the Japanese player his first Super Series success since June 2015.

Kamiji wrapped up victory in the women's singles event as she fought back from a set down to oust world number five Aniek van Koot of The Netherlands 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

"It’s been a very good week here in Sydney - today was difficult conditions to play in for both myself and Aniek,” the top seed said after winning her second Sydney Open title.

“I thought a lot on the match of how I could get the point but I am still trying to get better for next week and Australian Open."

Paralympic quad singles champion Alcott concluded the event on home soil in the best possible fashion as he overcame top seed David Wagner of the United States.

Alcott, also a Paralympic Games Gold medallist in wheelchair basketball, recovered from 4-1 down in the final set as he claimed a dramatic 3-6 6-4 6-4 win.
