ParaVolley Europe (PVE) have announced a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Sitting Volleyball Training Base of China (NSVTBC) in Shanghai.

The main goal of the deal is for the two parties to exchange experiences in the development of sitting volleyball in Europe and China.

This will be done via joint training camps and annual friendly games between Chinese and European teams.

The agreement comes following corresponding visits of the Chinese women's sitting volleyball team to Slovenia and the Slovenian women's team to China, where they visited the NSVTBC.

The event in China allowed PVE President Brank Mihorko to meet NSVTBC President Liu Jin where they discussed how best to develop the sport of sitting volleyball, which led to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.

The agreement is valid for two years until April 28, 2020 and it is hoped that it will entice more European teams to take the opportunity to train and play against sides outside of Europe.

Iran currently top the men's world sitting volleyball rankings whilst the United States are top in the women's.

China are ranked seventh in the men's standings and second in the women's, just 150 points behind the Americans.
