September 16 - South Africa's Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius (pictured) did not appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on his assault charge today as expected.

His case was not put on the court roll after a senior prosecutor saw the docket on Tuesday, and requested time for further investigation.

Once this was completed, the docket would be returned to court for the State to decided whether to prosecute or not.

Pistorius, 22, spent Saturday night behind bars for allegedly assaulting a woman who had attended a gathering at his Silver Lakes house in an up-market, residential and golfing estate in Pretoria

The 19-year-old, a friend of his, was allegedly fighting with her boyfriend during a small get-together on Saturday afternoon.

Pistorius, knwon as "Bladerunner" and the winner of three gold medals in the 100 metres, 200m and 400m at last year's Paralympics in Beijing, told them to go outside.

She later returned to the house alone and allegedly started kicking the doors.

While she was doing this Pistorius opened the door and told her to leave his house.

When he closed the door on her, one of the door panels allegedly hit her on the leg.

Pistorius was charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was released on a warning on Sunday morning after the charge was changed to common assault.
