Teqball was on display at the Minsk 2019 European Games fan zone here as part of a wider celebration of Hungarian culture.

Organised by the Hungarian Embassy in Belarus, attendees could listen to Hungarian music as well as try their hand on the teqball table provided.

In attendance was State Secretary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Tamas Menczer and Hungary's Ambassador to Belarus, Zsolt Csutora.

Representing the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) was head of international relations Marius Vizer and head of diplomatic relations Gergely Muranyi.

Hundreds of people tried teqball throughout the day, including former European Olympic Committees President Pat Hickey, whose invitation to the European Games had attracted criticism.

Hickey had been arrested on alleged ticket scalping charges while at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The delegation from the Hungarian Government and FITEQ also donated a teqball table to Dynamo Brest Football Academy, accepted by director Mikhail Smirnov.

Yesterday's event took place a week after teqball's successful appearance as a demonstration sport at the African Beach Games in Cape Verde.

The European Games continue here until June 30.
