The Norwegian Sliding Sports Federation (NABSF) has announced plans to host a Para bobsleigh school in Lillehammer ahead of the World Cup season.

NABSF will organise the school between November 28 to December 2 in cooperation with the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF), with the IBSF Para Sport World Cup opener in the Norwegian city from December 3 to 8.

The school will allow six to 12 participants to learn about Para bobsleigh with a team of coaches, healthcare staff and support staff.

Participants registering for the event, which will be based at the Hafjell Hotel in Lillehammer, will be required to cover their own travel, accommodation and food costs.

Anyone who represents a Norwegian sports club affiliated to NABSF will need to pay a deductible sum of NOK 1,000 (£89/$109/€100), with other participants paying NOK 1,500 (£134/$164/€150).

For the school to go ahead as planned, a minimum of six participants are necessary, with a maximum number of 12.

A minimum requirement for eligibility under IBSF rules is that participants must be able to move in and out of the bobsleigh or skeleton without assistance, as well as having good arm and finger function.

Registration for the school closes on October 30.
