The 39-year-old, a member of the Brazilian FIFA World Cup-winning squad in 2002, is attending the tournament as a teqball ambassasdor.

He showed off some of his teqball skills before taking part in a press conference. 

"Thank you for the wonderful welcome, the warmth of the people here make me forget the cold outside," he said.

"I have been a member of the teqball family as a friend for a long time. 

"I have really loved this sport from the very beginning."

Hungary's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) also signed a strategic cooperation agreement during the press conference, having already worked together for over a year. 

FITEQ President Gábor Borsányi symbolically presented Tamás Menczer, State Secretary for Information and International Representation of Hungary, with 200 teqball tables valued at €500,000 (£421,000/$553,000). 

The tables will be donated by the representatives of the Ministry in cooperation with Hungarian foreign missions.

"The flagship of Hungarian sport diplomacy is teqball," said Menczer.

"It is a 100 per cent an Hungarian invention, a perfect example of Hungarian creativity and finesse that is also essential for success in sport."

"We have donated quite a few teqball tables before and now we make this cooperation formally official, in which we donate another 200 tables together to various parts of the world, thereby promoting Hungarian culture further." 

FITEQ also donated five teqball tables to Hungarian charity Interchurch Aid Organisation, which were symbolically accepted by Interchurch Aid communication director Kristóf Gáncs from Ronaldinho. 

The World Championships are taking place here until Sunday (December 8), with around 150 players from 58 nations competing.
