The Freeski Slopestyle season is starting this weekend, with heavy snowfall and high winds seeing November's event at Austria's Stubai Zoo cancelled.

Eighteen-year-old Tess Ledeux was the victor, scoring 81.25 points to top the podium.

She has continued her impressive form after enjoying a successful 2019, claiming gold at last season's World Championships in Utah and taking top spot at the X Games Big Air competition in Norway.

In second was Giulia Tanno with 78.70, while another Swiss athlete, PyeongChang 2018 Olympic slopestyle gold medallist Sarah Hoefflin, finished third with 74.95.

The men's competition was won by Mark Hendrickson of Canada with a score of 86.30, his first ever World Cup victory.

Jesper Tjader of Sweden took silver on 85.70.

Completing the podium was Cody Laplante of the United States on 83.45.

The Slopestyle World Cup is scheduled to continue in the Italian resort of Seiseralm, with qualifying on Friday (January 17) and finals on Saturday (January 18).
