Russia took home two gold medals on day three of cross-country at the Para Nordic Skiing World Cup in Altenberg and Dresden.

Further sprint finals were held today, with double Paralympic champion Ekaterina Rumyantseva coming home first in the women's standing class.

Vilde Nilsen of Norway finished second, with Natalie Wilkie of Canada third.

In the men's standing, another Russian Paralympic champion prevailed as Vladislav Lekomtsev took top honours.

His team mate Aleksandr Pronkov finished second and bronze went to Witold Skupien of Poland.

All of the sprint finals followed qualification rounds and semi-finals.

Austria's Carina Edlinger captured the women's visually impaired gold medal as she came home in front of Sviatlana Sakhanenka of Belarus.

Vera Khlyzova of Russia took home bronze.

Sweden won the men's visually impaired final thanks to Zebastian Modin.

Canada's 13-time Paralympic champion Brian McKeever took silver, while Nico Messinger of hosts Germany captured bronze.

Cross-country action continues on Wednesday (January 15) with the short-distance finals across the classifications.
