Germany were the victors in the team event at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Snowboard World Cup in Bad Gastein.

The German team of Ramona Theresia Hofmeister and Stefan Baumeister were the gold medallists on the final day of competition at the Austrian resort. 

They overcame the home favourites, Claudia Riegler and Andreas Prommegger, in the big final.

It was yet another gold medal for Hofmeister, who triumphed in yesterday's individual event, while Baumeister added his gold to the bronze medal he had already pocketed. 

Third place went to Julie Zogg and Dario Caviezel of Switzerland, who defeated Nadya Ochner and Daniele Bagozza of Italy in the small final. 

The Snowboard World Cup is scheduled to continue in the Slovenian town of Rogla on Saturday (January 18).
