Alise Willoughby of the United States triumphed for a second time in the International Cycling Union (UCI) BMX Supercross World Cup at Shepparton in Australia.

The Olympic silver medallist had won yesterday's season-opener at Shepparton BMX Club, and  today topped the podium at the same venue again. 

She finished in 37.129sec, in front of compatriot Felicia Stancil in 37.406. 

Manon Valentino of France was the bronze medallist in 38.181. 

There was more success for the US in the men's competition, with Olympic champion Connor Fields dominating the race.

He recorded the winning time of 33.869, with Colombia's Rio 2016 bronze medallist Carlos Alberto Ramírez Yepes behind him in 33.960.

David Graf of Switzerland came third in 24.009. 

The World Cup continues with the third and fourth round on Saturday and Sunday (February 8 and 9).

It is staying in Australia, with the city of Bathurst acting as host.
