The South Korean starlet triumphed in 1min 32.069sec at Ice Stadium Bormio, finishing in front of Corinne Stoddard of the United States in 1:32.924 and Anna Matveeva of Russia in 1:33.292. 

South Korea then earned a second gold medal in the men's 3000m relay, with Ahn Hyun-jun, Jang Sung-woo, Kim Tae-sung and Lee Jeong-min topping the podium with a time of 3:55.494.

Russia's Vladimir Balbekov, Konstantin Ivliev, Viacheslav Karpov and Daniil Krasnokutskiy were the silver medallists in 3:55.982, while Ibuki Hayashi, Ota Ishii, Shogo Miyata and Takumi Wada finished in 4:12.437 to claim bronze. 

These victories were enough to see South Korea top the medal table with five gold medals and two silvers. 

The Netherlands were second, with a win in the women's 3000m relay giving them a total of two gold medals. 

Georgie Dalrymple, Anne Floor Otter, Xandra Velzeboer and Marijn Wiersma triumphed in 4:12.019, with Yuliia Beresneva, Sofia Boytsova, Daria Krasnokutskaia and Anna Matveeva of Russia second in 4:13.288.

Italians Chiara Betti, Elisa Confortola, Viola De Piazza and Katia Filippi crossed the line in 4:21.298 to receive bronze. 

Sun Long was the winner in the men's 1000m with a time of 1:34.108, pushing China up to third in the medal table with one gold and three bronze. 

In second was Ahn Hyun-jun of South Korea in 1:34.111, while Vladimir Balbekov of Russia was third in 1:34.647.
