Corinne Suter of Switzerland moved to the top of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup Super-G standings after triumphing in the German resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Suter raced to victory in 1min 19.46sec, finishing in front of Nicole Schmidhofer of Austria in 1:19.89. 

There was more delight for Swiss fans as Wendy Holdener finished third in 1:20.16. 

Suter moved to the top of the Super-G standings, with the previous leader, Federica Brignone of Italy, slipping down to second after recording a fifth place finish today.

The 25-year-old is now on 300 points, with Brignone on 261 and Schmidhofer on 206. 

Brignone remained second in the overall World Cup standings on 1080, ahead of Petra Vlhova of Slovakia on 891. 

Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States, who was absent from competition due to the recent passing of her father, stays in first place with 1225. 

World Cup competition is set to continue in the Slovenian resort of Kranjska Gora on Saturday and Sunday (February 15 and 16.)
