The Americans ensured it was five wins from five as they lifted the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Trophy, named after the former chairman of Leicester City Football Club, who died in a helicopter crash in 2018.

The US were guaranteed a place in the final, having gone undefeated through the group stages, including beating their opponents in the final Britain by five points to ensure four wins from four.

However, Britain had to overcome an Australian team that had won in overtime against them on day two, giving both sides a win against each other heading into the playoff.

In the rematch, there was no doubt this time as the hosts won 61-53 to book their match against the Americans.

Despite the unbeaten run, Britain came close to delivering them their first defeat in their first meeting, when they took the 2018 champions to overtime on day one.

But this time around, it was a lot more pedestrian for the US, winning by 11 points with a final score of 53-42.
