Apollinariia Panfilova and Dmitry Rylov of Russia triumphed in the pairs event at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn. 

The duo dominated proceedings at the Tondiraba Ice Hall in the Estonian capital, having built up a significant lead after yesterday's short programme. 

Following today's free skating performance, they achieved a total of 195.96 points to claim gold. 

It was an all-Russian podium, with Kseniia Akhanteva and Valerii Kolesov scoring 174.85 to take silver. 

Iuliia Artemeva and Mikhail Nazarychev were the bronze medallists with 171.18. 

Competition also began in the ice dance, and there was yet more success for Russia. 

Elizaveta Shanaeva and Devid Naryzhnyy took the lead after scoring 70.03 in the rhythm dance, but Georgia's Maria Kazakova and Georgy Reviya are just behind the pair on 69.98. 

Avonley Nguyen and Vadym Kolesnik are in third on 68.27. 

The men's winner is set to be announced tomorrow following the free skating contest, with the women's division also scheduled to get underway.
