Nissin Foods has teamed up with the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong (SF&OC) as its exclusive food partner.

The Japanese food company will now act as the sole provider for Hong Kong athletes at the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo -recently postponed until 2021.

In announcing the deal, SF&OC said: "Although the Tokyo Olympics is postponed due to the epidemic, Nissin Foods has decided to embrace the challenges and stand by with Hong Kong's elite athletes."

"Partnering with SF&OC, Nissin Foods also wishes to enhance public awareness and support for the Hong Kong athletes.

"The Federation always welcomes support from commercial partners for the development of sports.

"Nissin Foods, being a renowned food company and the largest instant noodle company in Hong Kong, will surely boost the attention of the public towards our athletes and bring up a positive energy to support them."

As part of the deal, Nissin Foods will also take part in local events arranged by SF&OC such as the Festival of Sport, an annual event in the territory.

The company is also the "Packaged Noodles and Pasta" Official Partner of Tokyo 2020.

Hong Kong have won three Olympic medals, with Lee Wai Sze winning the country's most recent of those - bronze in the women's Keirin - at London 2012.
