Spanish Paralympic Committee has joined the resistance against COVID-19 ©CPE

The Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) have posted a video of their athletes taking part in a fun dance in support of the resistance against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dancing to the Dúo Dinámico song Resistiré, Para athletes took part in the three and a half minute video which has become the anthem used in Spain during the coronavirus spread.

To date, there have been more than 191,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the nation, which has resulted in the deaths of over 20,000 people.

During the pandemic it has been sung from balconies across the country and is sung in support of the Spanish health care workers.

The authors of the song also transferred its right to the Community of Madrid for its official use in campaigns during the crisis with the song having a boost in listens of 435 per cent since March 15 when it gained traction on social media.

The Paralympians who were involved in the video included Para triathlete and former swimmer Alejandro Sanchez.
