Competition was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has now infected more than 2.6 million people worldwide, resulting in more than 186,000 deaths. 

The sixth edition of the 3x3 tournament had originally been scheduled for June 20 and 21 at House of Basketball in the Swiss town of Mies. 

"Given the current situation, this is the best solution that we could find," said IBF President Horacio Muratore. 

"We sincerely hope that the tournament will be able to take place in 2020. 

"The safety of our players and staff is our first priority and we will follow the orders of the local authorities."

All teams already registered will have their registration automatically changed to the new date.

If they are now unable to attend, teams can cancel their registration and be reimbursed. 

The annual FIBA Open normally takes place on the weekend of the governing body's anniversary. 

There are a number of categories contested in the tournament, including under-five, under-seven, under-15 mixed and under-18 mixed.
