United World Wrestling (UWW) launched a multi-platform social media campaign to celebrate World Wrestling Day tomorrow.

The campaign, entitled #ThisIsWrestling, is asking athletes, fans, coaches and officials to share photos and videos of themselves taking part in wrestling.

It has been launched in recognition of World Wrestling Day tomorrow, and will continue throughout the month.

"This Wrestling Day is about you, the fans, the athletes, the coaches, doctors, mothers and fathers," said UWW President Nenad Lalovic.

"With #ThisIsWrestling you show the sport as you experience it and share it with us, your wrestling family."

With sport suspended across the world due to the coronavirus pandemic, many athletes have used the campaign to share their emotions during the crisis.

"I'm so excited to get back on the mats," said Erica Wiebe of Canada, Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallist in the women's under-75 kilogram.

"We do this for the big moments when the world is watching and for we do it for the tiny moments when no one is watching.

"It's a true joy for me to train and compete and I cannot wait to get back to doing what I love."

The #ThisisWrestling campaign will be taking place across all social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok
