gb_womens_wheelchair_basketball_05-08-11August 2 - The British women's squad for next month's Wheelchair Basketball European Championships, taking place in Nazareth, Israel has been confirmed.

The team will be confident of success after taking gold at the BT Paralympic World Cup in May and bronze at the under-25 Women's World Championships last month, and have made just one change to that squad, with the return of Judith Hamer.

Garry Peel's side will take on Germany, France, Holland, Spain, Turkey and hosts Israel in a round robin group before proceeding to the elimination rounds, providing invaluable preparation ahead of next year's London Paralympic Games.

"The Europeans will really give us an idea of how far this team has come in a year and provide us with great competition," said Peel.

"The depth of women's wheelchair basketball in Europe has improved over the last few years so this will be an excellent stepping stone on the road to London 2012."
