The Biathlon Integrity Unit yesterday launched its new website, which it feels provides clearer information for biathletes through a user-friendly interface.

Information will be available on matters such as anti-doping, safeguarding, diversity and anti-corruption practices.

Stakeholder-specific information is also present to ensure that different groups are aware of their rights and obligations under the new International Biathlon Union (IBU) Integrity Code.

The BIU is committed to encouraging biathletes to speak out against integrity breaches and, to help that, will provide secure and confidential ways to give information, via a whistleblower hotline.

There will also be anti-doping learning tools for both athletes and coaches alongside copies of the IBU Integrity Code, World Anti-Doping Code and World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List.

"The BIU's new website will serve as a central hub of information for all integrity matters related to the sport of biathlon," BIU chair Louise Reilly said.

"We wanted to ensure it is as informative and easy to navigate as possible in order to encourage people to use the website as an educational tool as well as a source for the latest integrity information."

The BIU was established in 2019 by the IBU under its new constitution.

It is operationally independent and responsible for all integrity-related matters in the sport.
