World Para Powerlifting has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with sport media outlet BarBend, with the organisation now becoming a media provider for the governing body.

The partnership will see BarBend feature news, analysis, entertainment and opinions about Para-powerlifting across their social media channels.

So far, Paralympic medallists such as Egypt's Sherif Osan and Indonesia's Ni Nengah Widiasih have already featured on the outlet in interviews and podcasts.

"We look forward to our collaboration with BarBend and the opportunity to further promote our sport to new audiences through highlighting our athletes' amazing stories and performances," said Jorge Moreno, head of World Para Powerlifting.

The American-based company will produce more features with Paralympic medallists in the future, with more information found on their website.

David Tao, the chief executive and co-founder of BarBend, stated his delight for the agreement.

"Strength training and strength sport are global, inclusive endeavours," he said.

"Through our work with World Para Powerlifting, we're excited to highlight athlete accomplishments and stories within another thriving and passionate strength community."
