Kenyan_wheelchair_basketball_team_meet_Kalonzo_Musyoka_and_Prince_EdwardSeptember 25 - Kenya's vice-president Kalonzo Musyoka wants the country's successful World Athletics Championship performance in Daegu, South Korea, to be replicated by the wheelchair basketball team when they compete in the African Championships in Morocco.

Kenya came third in Daegu with seven gold medals to finish behind the United States and Russia, and Musyoka believes that the wheelchair basketball team can take this winning mentality to North Africa for the tournament, which runs from October 8 to 18.

Musyoka was speaking after the Earl of Wessex Prince Edward, who is the patron of the British Paralympic Association, presented wheelchairs to the squad at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.

He donated 12 wheelchairs which will be used during next month's competition as well as at the London 2012 Paralympic Games if Kenya qualify.

The Kenyan vice-President praised the British Government for continuing to support Kenyan Paralympics, and British High Commissioner to Kenya Rob Macaire reiterated the country's commitment to the Paralympic Movement.
