The Executive Committee of the Chengdu 2021 Summer World University Games has issued new debit cards with one of its official partners, the Chengdu branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).

The co-branded cards are now available for the public to apply for through all ICBC branches in Chengdu.

The first 50,000 cards have been issued, allowing holders to enjoy a discount on the purchase of official licensed products for the Games, while it can also be used like any other debit card.

Its design shows gradient strips representing the "upbeat, fashionable and colourful" life in Chengdu.

Buildings from the city including the Wangjiang Pavilion, the West Pearl Tower and the Global Center are all shown in the background on the card, as well as the panda mascot of the Games, Rongbao.

On January 22, the ICBC signed a contract with the Executive Committee to become the first official partner of the Games.

The company will provide financial services for Chengdu 2021 both during and in the run-up to the event.

Chengdu 2021 is scheduled to take place from August 18 to 29 next year.
