China Life Insurance, Jiangsu Yiming Sports Culture Communication and Beijing Jinningju Sports Development are among the sponsors to have signed contracts.

Jiangsu Qianghuai Sporting Goods, Hangzhou Anheng Information Technology, Hainan Sudouwang Industrial and Hainan Shiqiong Cultural Industry Development have also joined the list of new backers.

The Hainan Changjiang Lishan Wine Brewing company and Sanya Mr. Deer Chocolate Food company complete the list.

Sanya 2020 said the companies cover a range of sponsor categories, including insurance, sport exhibition, award ceremonies and food.

An official signing ceremony for the sponsors was held by organisers.

Sanya 2020 deputy secretary general Zhou Jun was present at the event.

Zhou said the companies would benefit from enhancing their corporate image and expanding their brand influence by sponsoring the Games.

The companies will also have the opportunity to integrate with Sanya's tourism and sport industry, organisers claim.

Shen Dean, the deputy secretary general of the Asian Beach Games, said the Organising Committee had been flexible over sponsorship due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Shen said this includes the naming rights of the event, as well as different sponsorship levels.

Sanya, located on the southern end of China's Hainan Island, is due to be the sixth host of the Asian Beach Games.

More than 2,000 athletes from more than 40 countries are expected to compete next year in 19 sports.

The Games are now scheduled for between April 2 and 10 following the coronavirus crisis.

Organisers were forced to postpone the Games, originally planned for between November 28 and December 6 this year, after the Chinese Government decided to cancel the majority of international sporting events for the rest of 2020.
