Defending International Swimming League champions Energy Standard will take a lead into the second day of the sixth match of the season in Budapest.

Energy Standard finished the opening day at Duna Arena on a score of 279 points, 38 clear of nearest rivals the Toronto Titans.

The New York Breakers sits third on 202 points, with Aqua Centurions last of the four teams competing in match six having scored 150 points.

Frenchman Florent Manaudou was the star performer for Energy Standard as he recorded the fastest 50 metres freestyle time of the season by clocking 20.55sec.

Manaudou later anchored the Energy Standard team, which also included South African star Chad le Clos, to victory in the men's 4x100m medley relay in 3min 20.68sec.

Toronto Titans claimed the women's 4x100m medley relay honours in 3:48.50, taking advantage of the absence of Energy Standard's Sarah Sjöström.

The Swede, the reigning Olympic 100m butterfly champion, is not competing in match six because of a minor back problem.

Marco Koch of Germany, a former world champion, excelled in the 200m breastroke as he earned a win for the New York Breakers in 2:00.58.

Koch edged out Toronto’s Anton McKee, who was over one second adrift of the victorious German.

Match six concludes with the final day of action tomorrow.
