Jin, a double World Championships medallist, converted his overnight lead into victory after scoring 186.95 points in the free skate at the Chongqing Huaxi Culture and Sports Center.

The 23-year-old racked up an overall tally of 290.89 points, 36.08 clear of Han Yan in second.

Han scored 264.81 points to take silver ahead of compatriot Chen Yudong, who marked his debut at a senior level ISU event by earning bronze on 226.21.

"I am really pleased considering that I had only really prepared for two weeks and I had only one run-through of my programme before," said Jin. 

"There is still a lot to improve, jumps to add, but I did like 70 per cent of the programme."

In the women's event, Chen picked up from where she left off in the short programme yesterday as she scored a total of 186.53 points.

Chen's free skate routine yielded 121.90 points as she ended the competition nearly 40 in front of nearest challenger Angel Li, who amassed 148.33. 

The bronze medal was claimed by Jin Minzhi on 135.43 points.

Two-time Four Continents medallists Peng Cheng and Jin Yang triumphed in the pairs event having scored 223.90 points.

Wang Yuchen and Huang Yinhang earned 175.40 points to secure silver, while bronze went to Zhu Daizifei and Liu Yuhang on 140.37.

Wang Shiyue and Liu Xinyu, who represented China at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, sealed gold in the ice dance event on 206.84 points.

Chen Hong and Sun Zhuoming did enough for silver on 192.26 points, with Ning Wanqi and Wang Chao taking bronze on 171.90.

The event was open only to domestic skaters or those who train in the host country or respective geographical region due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Skaters can also only compete in one Grand Prix of Figure Skating event because of measures imposed by the ISU amid the COVID-19 crisis.
