Halvor Egner Granerud ended Markus Eisenbichler's dominance in the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup after triumphing in Ruka. 

Eisenbichler had won the first two World Cup events this season, including yesterday's contest in the Finnish resort. 

The German had to settle for second place today, jumping 141 metres and 131m to finish on 272.1 points. 

Granerud proved victorious, achieving jumps of 137m and 142m to score 282.0.

Poland's Dawid Kubacki was third on 265.6 after managing 132m and 139m. 

Despite finishing second, Eisenbichler strengthened his lead in the overall World Cup standings. 

He is now on 280 points, followed by Norway's Granerud on 200 and Kubacki on 144. 

The Ski Jumping World Cup is scheduled to continue in Nizhny Tagil in Russia on Saturday and Sunday (December 5 and 6).
