Granerud landed jumps of 135.5 metres and 124.5m to secure a score of 241.5 which proved enough to edge out compatriots Robert Johansson and Marius Lindvik.

The victory came 24 hours after his success at the same venue and backed up his first World Cup win in Finnish resort Ruka last week.

Granerud also strengthened his position at the top of the overall standings, establishing a 67-point lead over Markus Eisenbichler who won the opening two legs of the season.

After finishing third yesterday, Johansson - a team Olympic large hill champion - went one better courtesy of jumps of 139m and 118.5m to boost his points tally to 240.7.

Lindvik ensured a great weekend for Norway by clinching third spot after registering distances of 131.5m and 127m to finish on 240.6.

Eisenbichler’s hopes of returning to the podium were dashed as the German came fourth on 231.6.

Keiichi Sato of Japan secured his place in the top five with 219.8, while Poland’s Paweł Wąsek was sixth on 218.9.

Norway’s Johann André Forfang and Germany’s Constantin Schmid finished joint seventh while Switzerland’s Gregor Deschwanden and Slovenian Timi Zajc also clinched top-10 places.

Eisenbichler headed into this weekend as the overall leader, but has now slipped to second on 333, while Granerud leads the way on 400.

Back-to-back podium places have seen Johansson climb to third on 220.

Germany's Karl Geiger, who came second in Wisla, did not compete in Russia as his wife is expecting their first child.

Austria's crystal globe holder Stefan Kraft was also absent after a positive COVID-19 test last month.

Competitors will now look forward to the FIS Ski Flying World Championships, scheduled to take place from December 10 to 13 in Planica in Slovenia.

The sixth and seventh legs of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup are due to be held in Engelberg in Switzerland on December 19 and 20.
