This season has been hit hard by the global health crisis with a series of events cancelled before Debrecen in Hungary held three Masters events in August.

Doha in Qatar then hosted the fourth competition in November and now all eyes will be on Jeddah as the campaign reaches its climax over the next two days.  

No fans will be present to see the 12 teams in action with FIBA implementing a host of coronavirus countermeasures to keep players safe.

Serbian side Liman and Latvia’s Riga are expected to be in the mix for the title after both winning two Masters events each.

Neither side has won the World Tour Finals crown with Riga finishing second and third in the past two years.

Novi Sad, who were based in the United Arab Emirates before returning to Serbia, have the strongest record in the competition’s history with four wins, including back-to-back titles.

It will be a family affair in Pool A with Ub star Strahinja Stojacic set to come up against his brother Stefan Stojacic who plays for Liman.

World Tour Final debutants Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy will be keen to show they belong on the big stage, but the Mongolians have lost all their meetings with Liman.

Red-hot Riga will be heavy favourites to top Pool C after their miraculous triumph in Doha.

The Latvians were runners-up in Beijing two years ago but believe their time has arrived to take 3x3's crown with Karlis Lasmanis and Nauris Miezis continuing to impress.

Riga also have an unbeaten record against Slovenians Piran and hosts Jeddah having won a combined six straight games.

Pool B consists of Novi Sad, Dutch side Amsterdam and Lausanne Katapult of Switzerland.

Two Lithuanian teams will go head-to-head in Pool D with Sakiai Gulbele and Utena Uniclub pitted against each other along with NY Harlem of the United States.

Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh was the initial choice for the final, with Jeddah previously scheduled to hold a Masters leg in October.

Competitions in Manila, Chengdu, Mexico City, Utsunomiya, Prague, Lausanne, Montreal, Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi were also all planned for this season but will not take place.

This year's World Tour had been expanded with 3x3 basketball due to make its Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, which is now scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 8 2021.
