The list consists of business executives and technology entrepreneurs and according to American Cricket Enterprises, it is "another statement of validation for the vision of Major League Cricket", while also "strengthening cricket’s potential in becoming a mainstream sport in the US."

In total, 29 individuals complete the list with the businesses they are involved in including some of the biggest in the world - Google, Microsoft and Facebook.

Founders of American Cricket Enterprises Sameer Mehta, Vijay Srinivasan, Satyan Gajwani and Vineet Jain said: "To follow up the announcement of the historic partnership with the Kolkata Knight Riders with this truly brilliant group of world-renowned investors is a tremendous sign of the progress and potential for Major League Cricket.

The investors list consists of former Chief Technology Officer of Facebook and Dropbox Aditya Agarwal, the founder of American investment service SQN Investors Amish Mehta, the head of Google's Search team Amit Singhal, founding partner of American investment firm Milliways Ventures Anand Rajaraman, the chairman of American company Access Healthcare Anurag Jain, the chairman of French manufacturer Aequs Aravind Melligeri and managing partner at American capital firm GreatPoint Ventures Ashok Krishnamurthi.

Also on the investors list are owners of YASH Technologies The Baheti Family, founder of capital marketing company ICONIQ Capital Divesh Makan, quantitative trader Harsh Shroff, distinguished engineer at Google Mayank Upadhyay, former chief business officer at WhatsApp Neeraj Arora, founder and former chief executive of Sierra Atlantic Raju Reddy, general manager of Google Nest Rishi Chandra and co-founder of technology company COFENSE Rohyt Belani.

Other investors on the list are chairman of The Perot Group, an investment company, Ross Perot Jr, chairman of Infinite Computer Solutions Sanjay Govil, private wealth manager Sanjeev Rao, chief executive of Microsoft Satya Nadella, chairman of Adobe Shantanu Narayen, founder of Think Investments Shashin Shah, managing director of Madrona Venture Group Soma Somasegar, founder of Kintent Sravish Sridhar, founder of Webex Subrah Iyar, founder of Canyon Oak Ventures Troy Detrick, founding partner at Milliways Ventures Venky Harinarayan, chief commercial officer of boutique company DASH Venu Palaparthi and founder of e-commerce payment system Paytm Vijay Shekhar Sharma.

The announcement of the list of investors is a further positive development improving cricket's standing in the US.

In October, USA Cricket launched a foundational plan - which they hope will help towards making cricket a major sport in the country by the end of the decade.

Last month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India gave a cautious welcome to a bid to include the sport on the programme for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
