The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has released its candidate list for the first-ever FIVB Athletes' Commission elections.

This final list will help form the FIVB Athletes' Commission, composing of ten members.

Five of these will be elected by players and the other five will be appointed by the FIVB President, Ary S. Graça F.

There will be equal gender representation on the Commission and an equal split between volleyball and beach volleyball representatives.

The application process was open to all national federations to nominate their respective candidate and now 11 female and five male candidates have now been confirmed.

Elections are set to take place over the last two weeks of January, through an online voting platform.

Eight volleyball and eight beach volleyball players are running to be part of the Athletes Commission.

Between them, the candidates have nine Olympic and 10 World Championship medals.

They have collectively participated in 58 World Championships.

The beach volleyball candidates are Louise Bawden of Australia, Joshua Binstock of Canada, Julius Brink of Germany, Meppelink Madelein of The Netherlands, Marketa Slukova Nausch of the Czech Republic, Delcio Soares of Mozambique, Anouk Vergé-Depré of Switzerland and Chen Xue of China.

Volleyball candidates are Milagros Cabral de la Cruz of the Dominican Republic, Neslihan Demir Güler of Turkey, Sam Deroo of Belgium, Małgorzata Glinka-Mogentale of Poland, Jordan Larson of the United States, Ognjenovic Maja of Serbia, Samuele Papi of Italy and Polina Rahimova of Azerbaijan.
