Norway will be eyeing further success as the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Biathlon World Cup resumes in Oberhof tomorrow.

Tiril Eckhoff bagged two individual golds while Johannes Thingnes Bø and Sturla Holm Lægreid both topped all-Norwegian podiums in the German town last weekend.

Oberhof is now set to stage another leg of the World Cup, scheduled to take place from tomorrow until January 17.

Competition is due to begin with the men’s 10-kilometre sprint, where Bø will bid to strengthen his 41-point lead at the top of the overall World Cup standings.

Lægreid sits in second on 481, with fellow Norwegian Johannes Dale in third on 434.

Eckhoff will then be aiming to claim a third successive individual World Cup triumph on Thursday (January 14) in the women's 7.5km sprint.

The five-time Olympic medallist has won four out of the past five races, including victories in the 7.5km sprint and 10km pursuit in Oberhof last time out.

Her form has cut the gap to compatriot and overall leader Marte Olsbu Røiseland to 43 points and saw her draw level with Sweden’s Hanna Öberg in second on 466.

Attention will then turn to the team events, with the men’s 4x7.5km relay due to be staged on Friday (January 15), followed by the women’s 4x6km relay the next day.

Sweden and Norway have picked up two wins each in the men’s and women’s team races this season.

The competition is scheduled to conclude on January 17 with the mass start races, which will see men compete over 15km and the women over 12.5km.
