American Nicole Vogt recorded her second win on home ice in as many days after triumphing in the latest Women’s Monobob World Series race in Lake Placid.

Vogt won yesterday’s race at the track after recording the fastest time in both runs and repeated the feat again today.

Vogt recorded 1min 00.13sec on run one and followed it up 1:00.09 on run two to give her a combined time of 2:00.22.

Second place on the podium went to Jamaica’s Carrie Russell who finished with a total time of 2:01.51, 1.29 seconds behind Vogt.

American Brittany Reinbolt ensured there were two Americans on the podium on a home track as she finished third in a time of 2:01.58.

Fourth place went to Brazil’s Tuono Marina Silva with 2:02.93 while fifth went to American Maddy Cohen in 2:05.89.

Only five athletes finished today following the disqualification of Jazmine Victorian-Fenlator of Jamaica.

Times were slower on the track today compared to the previous day’s racing, demonstrated by the fact that Vogt’s winning time today would only have been enough to finish fourth the day before.

Following her consecutive wins in Lake Placid Vogt has a comfortable lead at the top of the Women’s Monobob World Series standings ahead of Marina Silva.

The next round of the Women’s Monobob World Series is scheduled to be held at Königssee in Germany on Saturday February 20.

Women’s monobob is scheduled to debut at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, which is due to run from February 4 to 20 2022.
