Switzerland's Amy Baserga and France's Emilien Claude secured their second gold medals of the International Biathlon Union Youth/Junior World Championships with victories in the junior pursuit races in Obertilliach.

Baserga added the pursuit crown to her sprint title by completing the 10 kilometres course in 29min 22.4sec.

The Swiss star hit 19 of 20 targets on her way to finishing 41.8 seconds clear of Norway's Synne Owren.

Rebecca Passler of Italy did enough for bronze, crossing the line a further 5.7 behind the victorious Baserga.

"I did the best I could and I couldn't be happier," said Baserga.

Claude followed Baserga in clinching the sprint and pursuit double after clocking 32:16.5 in the 12.5km race.

The Frenchman led a one-two for his country as Eric Perrot took silver at 7.7 down, while Russia's Mikhail Pervushin earned bronze.

Lena Repinc of Slovenia claimed the youth women's pursuit honours in 21:20.8, 14.9 ahead of nearest challenger Martina Trabucchi of Italy.

The bronze medal went to Trabucchi's compatriot Linda Zingerle.

In the youth men's pursuit, Russia's Denis Irodov sealed the gold medal in 27:13.3.

Marcin Zawol of Poland took silver, more than a minute adrift of Irodov, with bronze going to Sweden's Oscar Andersson.

The event is scheduled to resume on Friday (March 5) following a rest day tomorrow.
