The European Sambo Federation (ESF) is to stage its Congress during May's European Championships in Cyprus.

The ESF Executive Committee agreed to stage the gathering in Limassol alongside senior, junior and youth European Championships.

May 12 has been set as the date for the ESF Congress, and a draft agenda was also approved.

The Executive Committee's report on the ESF's actions in 2020 tops the agenda.

Admission and exclusion of ESF members, the 2021-2022 international competition calendar and the Executive Committee's composition - with additional members potentially to be elected - are also set for discussion.

When the Executive Committee met, the ESF said consideration was also given to staging the 2023 European Championships in Italy.

Italy last hosted the event in 2013.

Last year's European Championships - due to be in Russia - were cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
