Russia claimed the final gold of the Almaty leg of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Freestyle Ski World Championships in the mixed team aerials, as competition came to a close in Kazakhstan.

Men's world champion Maxim Burov, women's world bronze medallist Liubov Nikitina and men's world bronze medallist Pavel Krotov, competing under the banner of the Russian Ski Federation (RSF), secured the title with a total of 300.94 points.

Russian athletes are competing under the RSF banner due to World Anti-Doping Agency sanctions levied against Russia.

Switzerland's Carol Bouvard, Pirmin Werner and Noé Roth won the silver medal with a total of 293.46 points and the United States' Ashley Caldwell, Eric Loughran and Christopher Lillis took the bronze medal.

Nikitina posted the second best women's score behind Caldwell, who was the only female skier to score above 100 points.

Belarus' Hanna Huskova was in third, while Bouvard struggled for Switzerland, leaving them far behind the rest.

Krotov closed the gap to the US on the second effort, while a massive jump for Werner put Switzerland back into medal contention.

Burov then overturned the rest of the US lead to give RSF the gold medal, while Roth posted the highest score to give the Swiss the silver, ahead of the Americans in third.

Belarus finished fourth, ahead of Ukraine, Canada and Kazakhstan.
