Eleven sports have been confirmed for this year's ASEAN Para Games in Vietnam's capital city Hanoi.

The programme for the event was set after organisers decided not to add four sports due to issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Cerebral palsy football, cycling, sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball had all been proposed but will not be contested because of "economic reasons and difficulties in preparing venues and facilities".

Athletics, archery, badminton, boccia, chess, goalball, judo, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair tennis have all been confirmed for the programme.

Hanoi is due to host the ASEAN Para Games for the second time after last staging them in 2003.

Last year's edition in Manila in The Philippines was cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis, with the Hanoi Games moved forward from 2022 as a result.

Venues planned for use in Vietnam include the Mỹ Đình National Stadium, the Mỹ Đình Aquatics Centre, Cau Giay Gymnasium, Bac Tu Liem Gymnasium, Culture House - Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Centre, Hanoi Athletic Palace and the Hanoi National Sports Training Centre.

The ASEAN Para Games are for countries which are part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations - Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Timor-Leste and the Philippines.
