Diellza Kelmendi has been elected as the new President of the University Sports Federation of Kosovo (FSUNK).

The former vice-president steps up to the main role after a vote held at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the University of Pristina. 

She replaces Musa Selimi in the top job and will serve a four-year term.

"Together we will work to present university sports in the international arena, promoting our youth and our country," said Kelmendi.

"At the same time, in the face of the conditions created by the pandemic, we will soon resume the realisation of the university leagues, interrupted due to COVID-19."

Flamur Hyseni was elected as FSUNK vice-president while Selimi was voted onto the Executive Board.

Other confirmed Board members are Muhamed Krasniqi, Perparim Avdullahu, Abedin Bahtiri, Afrim Selimi, Gani Ibrahimi and Abdyl Beqiri.

Kosovo is due to host the 2022 University World Cup in handball in Pristina in July next year.
