The United States, Colombia and Germany claimed team bronze medals over four compound and recurve competitions on day four of the Archery World Cup in Guatemala City.

American archers Braden Gellenthien, Kris Schaff and Reo Wilde claimed the bronze medal in the men's team compound, bouncing back from an upset loss to Colombia to defeat France's Sebastien Peineau, Adrien Gontier and Quentin Baraer 235-231.

"I think it took us a little bit of time to find what we've always had as a team," said Gellenthien.

"It's been almost two years since we shot a team round together.

"Unfortunately, we had a bye in the first round, so we didn't have that tournament pressure, and we didn't have any experience in the wind.

"They beat us in the first match, but we came together strong as a team, and it's really nice when we're all shooting our best."

In the women's compound, Colombia's Sara Lopez, Nora Valdez and Alejandra Usquiano collected compound bronze with a narrow 233-231 victory over El Salvador's Paola Corado, Sofia Paiz and Camila Alvarenga.

The experienced Colombian trio, who were world champions in 2017, were upset in the semi-finals by Mexico.

Mexico play the US in the gold-medal match tomorrow.

Germany won both men's and women's recurve bronze medals.

The team of Florian Unruh, Maximillian Weckmüller and Christoph Breitbach won 5-3 against the French trio of Jean-Charles Valladont, Pierre Plihon and Thomas Chirault in the men's competition.

Breitbach called the team event a "great experience" and credited his more experienced team mates.

"It's my first World Cup, and almost first international experience, so having them as a team mates, with their experience, helped me do better," said Breitbach.

"I'm really happy to even get a medal."

In the women's event, Lisa Unruh, Michelle Kroppen and Elisa Tartler claimed a second bronze for Germany with a 5-1 win over Elia Canales, Ines De Velasco and Leyre Fernandez Infante of Spain.

Individual and team compound finals are scheduled tomorrow.
