The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) has begun a week of remote committee meetings aimed at guiding the sport’s future.

Meetings began with the IBSF Development Committee taking the focus today.

The Skeleton Sport Committee will meet tomorrow, followed by the Skeleton Material Committee holding discussions on Wednesday (May 5).

Austria’s Michael Grünberger chairs both the skeleton committees, which seek to advise the IBSF leadership.

Grünberger is joined by seven members on the Skeleton Sport Committee, while eight members serve on the Skeleton Material Committee.

The Bobsleigh Material Committee will hold its meeting on Thursday (May 6).

The week-long committee meetings will conclude on Friday (May 7), when the Bobsleigh Sport Committee will hold talks.

Jos Mattli serves as chair of both bobsleigh committees.

The previous committee meetings in October 2020 had the motto "IBSF 2022 and beyond!"

The IBSF said the process will continue this week, with the committees tasked with producing a complete "slide into the future" paper relating to sports and material.
