World ParaVolley wants prospective players interested in taking part in the beach event at the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) Guttmann Games later this year to let them know.
The first-ever Guttmann Games are being combined with the IWAS World Games in Portugal to from October 7 to 13.
Named in honour of Sir Ludwig Guttmann, father of the Paralympic Movement and the IWAS founder, events not on the Paralympic programme will feature at the Guttmann Games.
Beach ParaVolley is set to be one of them, and it will be the discipline's first international event in two years.
Classification will be available, and the event will carry beach ParaVolley ranking points equivalent to a World Championship series event.
To aid planning for the Games, the IWAS and World ParaVolley are now inviting the athletes, coaches and team staff to participate in the Games to first fill in an expression of interest form if they wish to competed.
The form can be viewed here.
World ParaVolley members have been asked to submit their interest before the end of June, as a decision on whether or not the Guttmann Games can be staged as intended in Vila Real de Santo António is expected to come in July.
