France’s Mathilde Lamolle earned gold in the women’s 25 metres pistol at the European Shooting Championships in the Croatian city of Osijek today.

Lamolle, the 2016 world junior champion, scored 35 beating by three the total accrued by silver medallist Monika Karsch of Germany.

Bronze went to Russia’s Vitalina Batsarashkina - an Olympic silver medallist over 10m - with compatriot Margarita Chernousova in fourth place.

Chernousova's efforts earned the ROC team an Olympic quota place. 

Later on day 11 of an event that will conclude on Saturday (June 5), Britain’s Lucy Hall equaled a European junior record in the women's junior trap final as she totalled 41 targets.

In a top-quality contest, Portugal’s Maria Ines Coelho de Barros was only one score behind her.

Zina Hrdlickova of the Czech Republic earned bronze.

The men’s junior trap final ended with high excitement as the title went to Russia’s Kirill Bagrov after a shoot-out with Lorenzo Franquillo of Italy.

After both had finished with 41 targets, the Russian prevailed with a final 2-1 win.

Bronze went to Spain’s Andres Garcia, who finished one place ahead of compatriot Javier Martinez Fuster.
