From January 3 to 12 2022, the World Junior-B Curling Championships are set to welcome junior teams from all WCF nations that have not already qualified for the World Junior Curling Championships.

The top three women's and men's teams will qualify from this event to the World Junior Curling Championships, which are still to have a confirmed date or venue.

This competition allows curlers who are 21 years old or younger to compete.

Lohja will then be set to welcome curlers for the World Qualification Event from January 17 to 22 - featuring eight men's and eight women's teams.

These will comprise of the hosts, one Americas team, two from Pacific-Asia and four from Europe.

The winners and runners-up qualify for the women's and men's World Curling Championships.

"We are delighted to be taking two more of our championships to the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja," said WCF President Kate Caithness.

"The Organising Committee has become important partners to us in recent years and are very experienced in hosting our events. 

"After the successful Wheelchair-B event in April, we have every confidence in their ability to host a series of COVID-secure and first-class championships."

Lohja has hosted the Junior-B Championships four times previously, as well as the World Qualification Event in 2020.

It recently hosted the World Wheelchair-B Curling Championship in April.

"We are very glad and excited that the WCF has again placed their trust in us and awarded two competitions to be hosted in Finland," added Jari Turto, the Finnish Curling Association President. 

"We are confident that the years of experience hosting events in Kisakallio will guarantee these events to be successful. 

"We are also very proud of the work done by our partner, the Kisakallio Sports Institute. 

"It will be an exciting season leading up to the Olympics."

Curling is part of the programme for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing too, which are set to take place from February 4 to 20 next year.
