Ukraine's Vasyl Kovalchuk triumphed in the mixed 50 metre rifle prone SH2 competition as the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup continued in Lima.

The two-time Paralympic gold medallist produced a dominant performance in the final at the Las Palmas Air Base Shooting Range.

Kovalchuk achieved a score of 247.1 to finish with a comfortable margin of victory in the competition, which saw shooters eliminated after each round.

France's Vincent Fagnon finished as the runner-up on 244.2.

The podium was completed by Italy's Andrea Liverani, who was eliminated on a score of 224.2.

Italy finished as the winners of the team event on a total of 1,845.2, with Thailand second on 1,827.1.

Russia enjoyed success in the P5 mixed 10m air pistol standard SH1 competition.

Sergey Malyshev emerged as the winner of the event, finishing with a score of 367 - 1x.

He held off the challenge of South Korea's Youmi Kim, who scored 356 - 3x to finish as the runner-up.

The bronze medal was earned by Malyshev's team-mate Oksana Berezovskaia, who scored 348 - 2x.

Russia earned victory in the team competition by finishing on 1,060 - 5x, with South Korea second on 1,025 - 8x.

Competition continues tomorrow with the R3 mixed 10m air rifle prone SH1 and P4 mixed 50m pistol SH1 events being contested.

The World Shooting Para Sport World Cup event is serving as the final qualifier for shooting at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
